Voice Lessons

Choir class is offered on Saturdays. Children from around the community will discover the fun of singing with others. The children will learn some music theory, music history, sight singing, and harmony. They will learn a variety of songs from popular children's songs to traditional pieces. The children will also have the opportunity to perform for the community in retirement homes and community centers.

Private voice lessons are offered on Saturdays and some weekdays. Thirty, forty, and sixty-minute lessons are available. Students are trained classically according to their skill level. Beginning voice students, or young voice students, are encouraged to take piano lessons. A firm foundation of piano will be essential to their success in vocal training.
Piano lessons followed by voice lessons are available.

Since the voice matures slowly, voice lessons for young students differ from voice lessons for teens and adults. Younger students will be trained with music theory lessons, music history, ear training, and sight singing so that they will have a firm foundation in their vocal experience. Teen and adult students will be trained in the same way with the addition of Concone’s vocal exercises and a more intensive voice lesson. The training they receive will help them perform their assigned vocal pieces, as well as pieces of their own choosing, with greater fluency and flair.

The teaching philosophy of the vocal program at Seeds of Learning places great importance on developing positive attitudes in our students through success in music. The primary goal of our program is to empower our students, not only in their ability to understand music, but in other areas of knowledge, by helping them discover personal rewards in the study of music and in turn making the student confident in his or her ability to learn. Our program encourages creativity and independence by allowing our students to express their emotions and ideas through music.

Studies have linked active music making with better language and math ability, improved school grades, better-adjusted social behavior, and improvements in "spatial-temporal reasoning," which is the foundation of engineering and science. More data is coming in every day in this exciting field.

My philosophy and approach towards music.

Singing is more than just taking lessons. Studying the voice will empower students by helping them develop life skills through music.

Voice students will acquire time management and goal setting skills. They will develop organized thinking patterns. They will obtain important attributes, such as commitment, perseverance and personal responsibility in what they do.

Not only will students love the music they learn and enjoy what they perform, they will become skilled singers. The student will ultimately develop a sense of achievement through his or her accomplishments, and reap the rewards of self-confidence and self-esteem. Singing is, and will be, a springboard to success for the rest of their lives.

The benefits of taking singing lessons from Seeds of Learning are numerous: the most affordable tuition on the market; the supreme quality of the teaching; the positive support from the teacher and the other fellow students.
